Moore House Tutor Academy provides an affordable individualised approach to contrast the current schooling environment our learners face in South Africa. At Moore House Tutor Academy each learner is individually catered for while ensuring that their educational requirements are met through full and flexible programmes.
"Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding."
-Robert John Meehan
Since 2015, Moore House Tutor Academy has provided educational assistance to learners who choose an alternative educational approach, while still adhering to the traditional paths towards a National Senior Certificate. The attention to our learners' whole learning experience is our primary driving force. Einstein envisioned himself riding next to a beam of light and his ideas were against the lessons being taught at that time. This was a result of him running away from his school in Germany and enrolling himself into a school that approached learning differently. They called it thought experiments. We hope to afford the learners the opportunity to change the way they learn. Memorising content is still a large part of our educational system but it does not mean that learning the content must be traditional. Our small group sessions and interactive learning methods allow us to encourage thought experiments and reminds us that creativity is based on imagination. To inspire the creativity of the next generation, we need to teach them first to imagine.
Our experienced tutors will guide the learners through understanding the curriculum and will help the learner plan their year to prevent them from feeling overwhelmed.
Through one-on-one contact time or group learning programmes each learner will work confidently towards achieving their National Senior Certificate.
Our workshops are run by experienced assessment developers; where content is related to past papers and examination technique. This has proved to be a valuable and effective examination revision session.
Learners who face barriers to learning may obtain accommodations (extra time, readers, scribes).
We assist with the registration of accommodations with SACAI and we connect parents with experienced and qualified tutors.
